Reconstruction of the 13 km of Ateni-Boshuri-Khidistavi Road (2024)

The population of Ateni valley benefits from a new complexly upgraded road of modern standards. As part of the entire reconstruction of the 13 km long Ateni-Boshuri-Khidistavi road, a 76,000 m2 asphalt concrete road was laid on which 18,000 tons of asphalt were spent, and 110,000 m3 rock mass was cut and shaped. 80,000 m2 of road base was stabilized using modern materials. Gabion and reinforced concrete retaining walls were installed on unstable sections. More than 11 kilometers of various types of concrete culverts were installed, as well as complex road foundation protection and water removal projects.

As a result, by enlarging the narrow sections of the road and bringing the radii of the bends closer to the standards, as well as organizing the longitudinal and transverse profiles of the road in line with modern norms, the throughput and operating speed were significantly boosted. The road's carrying capacity and service life were extended by an innovative approach to base and cover configuration.

Furthermore, in accordance with traffic safety standards, 3500 m of concrete and more than 1000 m of metal guardrails and barriers were installed, and the new road was outfitted with European standard traffic lights, road signs, and other relevant devices.
